First Day of Christmas Vacation

The plan was to leave in the middle of the night so we could get a little sleep and our daughter would be able to sleep for the majority of the 10 hour drive which I expected to take 12 hours or more...you never know with a little one. So at 9h30 at night I said let's just go now, it's silly to wait any longer if neither of us is asleep. My daughter slept the nearly the entire drive with one exception when she woke up at 2h a.m. and we were at a rest stop so we let her run around a bit then she went right back to sleep when we got back in the car. She was perfect.

It was 8h in the morning when we were nearing my Aunt's house, I knew she had just left for work and would not be expecting us until much later that day so I thought it would be fun to surprise her at work. She was surprised...I haven't seen her in over a year, I weigh 75 lbs less and have red red hair, needless to say it took her a few to recognize me!

Her boyfriend greeted us at their house around 9h30 in the morning, and it had been a long drive so we quickly persuaded him join us for an early cocktail. The day was long for us as we both had only had about 1 hour of sleep. After we left my Aunt at work she said she sat in her cubical and cried, she so badly wanted to be with us and was dying to spend time with our daughter, so her boss let her finish out her day of work at home.

On our way to the restaurant we stopped by the boardwalk along the Chesapeake Bay to run around a bit-I love these pictures!

That evening we went to Mexico- a restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside but is quite impressive in every other aspect. This is a restaurant my Aunt dines at occasionally and I very much enjoyed their margaritas in the past so I insisted that this was where we had our Friday night dinner. The inside is actually very detailed and authentic in its decor, the music makes you want to dance, its cleanliness is unquestionable and the food is not only abundant but so delicious-and I do not care for Mexican food! I enjoyed every sip of my giant margarita-we all did. Then we went home and had some more drinks, sang a hilarious round of '12 days of Christmas' and laughed until we peed our pants! We were all fast asleep by 7h30.
