Weigh in Wednesdays
Today 4.18.2012 174 lbs
January 2012 188 lbs
Starting weight 2010 261 lbs
O my gosh, I am so happy! These past few pounds were hard to lose, I was getting so frustrated it seemed like the scale would not budge no matter how hard I tried, how little I ate, how much I walked, and how much I juiced so last night I thought 'o what does it matter I'm not losing weight anyhow I might as well have a cheeseburger' and I woke up the next morning 3 pounds lighter! I've noticed that many many times before when trying to lose weight, it seems as if your body needs some garbage to cleanse itself out-not trying to be gross.
I was wondering what the heck was going on because my clothes are getting SO big and I really need to buy some new pants and tops but then I realized that I actually weigh 10 pounds less than I did when I went to Hawaii in August of 2009! So I'll have to dig out my old clothes!

7th wedding anniversary
April 2nd, 2012- 7th wedding anniversary |
The 357 I rented |
Our 7th wedding anniversary was last week and I'm just now getting around to posting this. Every year we have a tradition of watching our wedding video while drinking champagne and eating pizza. We also like to do something fun and different. We do not buy each other presents, I guess neither one of us really saw the purpose of that, instead we just like to do something together. On our first anniversary we got matching tattoos, one year we went to the shooting range, one year we went to Krav Maga, on our 5th I was pregnant, last year we were 'living' in Chicago so we spent the afternoon at Millennium Park and visited a restaurant we had seen on the Travel Channel, in the evening the staff of the hotel surprised us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries-we topped off the night with a famous Chicago style pizza. This year we went to the shooting range again as it is something we both really enjoy doing and I have not been able to get to the range since I became pregnant. Afterward we grabbed a quick drink. When we got home we put on our wedding video right away, we knew it would be difficult to watch this year with our 1 year old wanting our attention, I only had a few sips of my champagne, a few bites of pizza and during the reception Joel put our daughter to sleep and I washed the dishes. We were actually able to sit down together to watch our video from our honeymoon and our anniversaries. Every year after we watch the video, we tape a few minutes-this is the best part to watch!

I am so blessed to be married to such a great man and so lucky to have a husband who is an exemplary father. I do not deserve him. Happy Anniversary....let's shoot for 7 more! ;)

Weigh in Wednesdays
Well, I have no new weight loss to report, which was discouraging until I weighed myself today and saw NO weight gain. I was expecting to have gained several pounds because my 'injury' last week (I don't know what else to call it) left me so bloated, I pigged out over Easter and now I'm bloated because it's that time of the month, so to have not gained a pound was very surprising to me.
I've only lost 11 pounds since the beginning of the year- 11 pounds in 3 months is not very impressive but it is less!
I started walking again in March, last summer I walked 177 miles in 4 months and lost 20 pounds-and I was eating WHATEVER I WANTED...which was lots and lots of sweets. My goal this year is to walk 177 miles in 2 months (and I'm eating incredibly healthy). I can't say that the 87 miles I walked in march led me to a smaller number on the scale however I certainly see a difference in the way my clothes fit and my thighs are getting a much nicer shape!

Dancing my way through life
I find it so interesting every day that you wake up in the morning and have no idea where your day will take you. You might get some unexpected good news, something terrible might happen, or maybe it will be simply be a typical day but it seems they usually don't turn out as intended. Last Tuesday I had an average check up appointment with my obgyn, no big deal, thought it would be done and over in a matter of minutes and my only concern was 'who will watch my daughter?' During the exam my Dr unintentionally injured me by rupturing an unknown cyst leaving me in a tremendous amount of pain for days, I spent MUCH longer in my appointment than expected and then had to return soon after I left to have an ultra sound. It was awful, for 3 days I could hardly change my daughter's diaper my stomach hurt so badly, I basically spent all of last week laying on the floor. Thankfully I feel much better as of Sunday.
This Tuesday, I woke up and thought that maybe I would go out and buy a new pair of sunglasses and this would be my big adventure of the day...instead...my daughter and I signed up to take our first Hawaiian dance class! I had inquired a few days ago thinking this would be something I and or she might do sometime in the future, maybe even next year and the instructor called me this afternoon and said a 9 week class begins tonight! I said 'sign us up!' I am so excited for many reasons; I have wanted to learn Polynesian dance since I went to Hawaii, the idea of me and my baby and I doing something like this together warms my heart, she has the opportunity to be in a recital this June which makes me giddy to think of her on stage in a grass skirt, and I like the idea that this could be something she may really enjoy doing in life. I am thrilled! And though she is but 18 months old, she so loves to dance!!! My only concern is that this is her first experience with a group and a structured activity. I think no matter what it will be fun!

Happy Easter
Happy Easter!!! Today we are having dinner at my mother's house, my sister is cooking, we have our annual Easter egg hunt- Z is the only child, so it's pretty cutthroat, and my friend Shannon is joining us. If all goes well I will also accomplish a LIFE LIST item, it's a small one but I've been bugging my step dad about it for nearly 3 years now! He has an Indian Chant record on vinyl and about 2 years ago he bought a vinyl to CD converter but he still has yet to open the box, I think today might be the day!
It's been a difficult week, there are so many things I want to write about but I had a 'medical malfunction' that rendered me pretty lifeless this week. Here are some pics from our Easter morning, Z and her basket from last year and the professional photos we had taken last year.
Enjoy your Easter!!!

Wedding Pictures-Today is our 7th anniversary!
April 2nd, 2005
Well I wanted to post a wedding synopsis blog of the showers, baccalaureate party, getting ready, ceremony, reception and honeymoon but I just did not find the time this week to put all the pictures together. So I'll just post some of our wedding pics and save the rest for another day.
